History
Two weeks before the Detroit Auto Show, a few of us were gathered in a room and shown the upcoming Camaro to be unveiled. Chevy wanted an accompanying site that would play up the importance of the vehicle and also support its SS line.
I started looking at historical illustrations of older Chevy concepts, and really fell in love with the rawness of the images, and seeing the unmatted art, the rough edges, and strokes - created a site style that would reflect this heritage, and replicate this style through animation and overall design.
The result is a fluid and raw site, and personally, I think the India Ink strokes really work well with the shots of the concept car. I think this is also one of the first Flash sites CE produced that was fluid width - the layout changed accordingly to the user's browser widths.
Incidentally, at the shoot, I committed taboo, and sat in the vehicle. Oops.
