Phones Transitioning In
In 2006, Alltel launched a new integrated operating system that would live on all their phones, and sit on top of whatever operating system the phones would run.
The advantage of the system is that even base-model phones would gain access to higher interactivity that only smart-phones had, and a clear win against other carriers. The system was based off of widget-style compatibility, and revolved around the user of 'cells', which could be customized and re-ordered to fit a user's needs. The operating system itself was developed by Frog.
Because Frog had developed a new paradigm for using phones, we decided the site itself should begin to adapt some of those systems so that as users would begin the process of learning how to use (or more information about) Celltop itself, we could be soft-introducing how to use the system itself.
The end site was a full-Flash site with deep-linking and flexible content and size that adapted the animation and type styles of the OS itself. How-Tos were integrated into the site, and subsequent content was revealed by panels. The user would navigate through the site in a similar fashion to how they would use the OS - transitioning between cells.
