Defrost had designed an elegant grid-based site for Clear!Blue, an event company. The system required fluid motion, and complicated re-use of each of the grid squares. In some sections requiring the squares to be used for image loading, in others for animation or video - or even just for placement.
I developed a class-based system that would dynamically populate and re-assign the grid squares as needed. These could in turn call-back to the interface shell their location and move the camera to that point. the challenge was to develop something that would allow deep-linking, have no hard-cuts between screens (fluid animation from top level to zoomed details), and would be able to handle varying layouts and parallel loading.
This ended up being my first foray into both formal ActionScript 2.0 and Classes. The site launched with an XML back-end, that later was bridged into a Content Management System.
This is a really beautiful site in motion that stills don't capture; sadly the site is no longer live.
